When to book your newborn session?

My schedule fills up about 3 weeks in advance so please call to schedule your newborn appointment before your baby is born. Since you never really know when your little one will arrive I will make a tentative booking based on your due date. When your baby is born and you are back home from hospital I will move your appointment accordingly. 

The best time to photograph newborns is when they are between 5-12 days of age. At this point they are still very sleepy and like to curl up as if they were still in the womb.  Once babies get older they might get a bit colicky and they will start to move much more which means that they are more likely to be disturbed while sleeping. Capturing your newborn within the first two weeks of life while they are still sleepy and curled up, can make all the difference in your newborn portraits.

If your baby came early or if your baby is already born, don’t panic! I always do my best to squeeze newborns into my schedule and older babies take beautiful portraits too.

Your experience

I only have one session per day and allow plenty of time for feedings, diaper changes and comforting during the session.

Our newborn session would usually take around 3 hours. I love working with soft and beautiful natural light when photographing your baby so I try to schedule my newborn sessions in the morning as babies tend to be more sleepy and it is when the light in my studio is best. The room will be nice and warm during the session to make sure your baby feels comfortable at all times so wear cool and comfortable clothing.

I have a lot of beautiful baby clothes, props and wraps for you to choose from and I like to involve you in the styling of the session. We will decide on the colours you would like me to use during the session so that in case you would like to display the pictures on the wall they will go well with the rest of the interior. 

The session fee covers my time and talent photographing your baby, carefully selecting and editing your images one by one to ensure the best possible result.

Siblings, spouses and grandparents are welcome with no additional fee.

Session fee is due at the time of booking to reserve your date. The session fee does not include any digital files. I offer a variety of different products to my clients including bespoke fine art reveal boxes, session albums, prints and other items that are available in addition to the session fee.

My First Year - Newborn, 6 Months, 1 year  sessions (save £110)

Each session include the following:

• Guidance and advice for clothing and session design.

• Access to my beautiful collection of props.

• A full session to capture many beautiful images.

• A post-session viewing & ordering appointment where you will be able to view a full gallery of 20-25 carefully selected and beautifully edited images and decide on your favourite images and a final product that you would like to purchase (order is placed and paid for at this time).

  All images in digital and print form are purchased after the session for additional fees.

What happens next?

In about 2- 4 weeks after our session we will have our viewing appointment at my studio where you will be able to select your favourite images that you would like to purchase.

All packages include both prints and digital files. Digital only copies cannot be bought separately.
